A question for you clever types !

As mentioned in a couple of other threads I am in need of an exhaust for my truck from the cat's back, and as i am in Guernsey I cannot go down the custom fit route.

VX don't have the main silencer in stock, they currently have 25 on back order, and can give no delivery date.

I have found a silencer in Germany, for an Opel Frontera B 3.2 V6, 1998 onward, but need to know if there are any differences between the Opel and VX Frontera's ?

as far as i know the only difference is in the spelling

vauxhall/opel same make model i dont think there being LHD will make any difference

Vx & Opel is just badging,but I did already post ......there is a chassis number break & so there are 2 possible part numbers for your car,so presumably there is a difference between them
PM me your old UK reg & I will try & sort you the correct number

Oh bugger, had forgotten about the two different systems !!

My old UK reg was ????????, which I believe means I need Vx part # 97245000.

So the next question is, are the Opel / VX part numbers the same ?? in which case I will try and contact this company in germany to see which one they have.

Yep cross referenced & that is correct part #,as far as I can see Vx & oOpel use the same numbering system,but it may be handy to have your VIN # handy when phoning.

Right, I have had a bit of a development on the exhaust front (or middle rather)

VX have still not been able to provide a delivery date from their manufacturer, nor have I been able to find the correct Opel part from Europe, however . . .

I had a chat with my local VX parts guy a couple of weeks ago about the possibility of tracking down an Isuzu part that would fit, and he agreed to speak to the local Isuzu guy (the joys of living on a small island !) to see what he could find out.

Anyway i just had a phone call to say they have identified the one that should fit, and have also found out that there is one in stock at the Isuzu dealer in Jersey (Neighbouring Island). Thay are going to get it shipped over, and we will offer it up and see what happens.

Unfortunately I don't have the part number, or the details of the Isuzu it comes from yet, but as soon as I know if it fits or not I will let you all know.
