SWAP PETROL FRONTERA ENGINE TO A DIESEL FRONTERA ENGINE

How easy would it be to change a petrol engined 2.2 frontera to a frontera diesel engine .

Would of thought ya would need a wiring loom aswell mate.

Loom,dash,fuel lines,filter body,exhaust system............Basically the best bet is to have a complete doner to take bits off as you go

Best bet is to sell the 2.2 and buy a diesel!!!!!!!!

Must admit I have to go along with 4x4 bobby.... sell yours and buy a diesel one...

The amount of work that will be involved to convert, would make it financially unviable unless you were wanting to stick something different into it than was available from vx...
plus then you may encounter probs with insurance as car is considered majorly modified, possible engineers report, change in taxation group may be needed, and then on resale many people are put off by diy engine changes, so would not probably achieve the price of a comparable factory diesel...

You would probably struggle to get all the parts needed alone, for the difference in the resale value of your petrol and the purchase price of a diesel, and thats not taking into consideration the probable 50hrs+ of blood sweat and tears that would then spend doing the conversion...

Dont mean to put a downer on your plan...
I would be the first to be keen on modding something, but I wouldnt bother unless I was putting something really different in it that wasnt available already done by the manufacturer, or maybe if I had a donor car that I knew was good, but owed me next to nothing...

You must be mad to want to do that, the oil burner is not a good engine at all, stick to the petrol it's easier to fix

And if you do change the engine over Don't forget you need an engineers report for insurance purposes, I did when I changed a petrol to a diesel
