Well its decided, as the kids go in the Picasso and the tyres are about 2mm from the minimum with winter on the way and Lee does a long motorway drive to and from work it looks like Ill have to spend money on the thing In nearly a year other than fuel and oil Ive only had to buy a fuse for it But my mate has a petrol one and I seem to be tinkering with that a lot Anyway, Tyres, as we are all skint Im looking at budget tyres but not the totally crappy one just generally crappy ones Had my eye on these http://www.camskill.co.uk/products.php?show=3739Any thoughts guys?

Don't skimp on the tyres. They are your only contact with the road. Braking distance is the thing. How much would you spend on a night out? Would you make it home on cheap tyres? Just to be a real old fuddy..... if you are turning right, with oncoming traffic, keep the wheels straight ahead until it is clear; otherwise, if somebody shunts you up the rear, you go flying straight into the oncoming traffic/artic.
Live long and drive.................a Frontera.
If you need something done quickly just ask a busy woman then get the f"k out of her way.

Hey Frenchy you are spot on there, dilemma time is, keep worn tyres for maybe 3k more till they see the end of their legal life or get cheaper end of market (though not cheapest) tyre with full EU tested tread? We cant afford the £75 per tyre michelin that it has on now. Ive checked online feedback for that tyre and they all seem positive, taking into account most have paid money and wanted to love their tyres The Pic has the 20HDI engine and not exactly a performance monster Best the middle ground than the baldy ground me thinks

French,Hankook tyres were factory fitted to a lot of Ford cars in USA,the modern tyres for the European market are produced using a lot of Michelin influence,if memory serves they are made in Belguim, all that aside they cannot be that bad the company has been around since 1941

Dad had Hankooks on the vectra, well... He still has them on the front, The rears wore down pretty quick but thats because I was lazy when it came to replacing the rear suspension bushes.
We replaced the rear tires with Nankang's which seem to be of equal quality and price, anyway, the front ones have been on for about 2 years and and have at least 3/4 of the tread left, bearing in mind my dad does less then 10,000 miles a year and drives at 40mph everywhere.
Not a problem with them, wearing well and for a budget tyre and they seem quiet and grippy. I think he paid about £25.00 a corner plus fitting.
Have also used Goodride budget tires in the past. To be honest they all seemed pretty much of a muchness and all were hard wearing, long lasting tires.
I also drink Port and I'm not ashamed to say it! Me Truck
