Poorly engine

Hi All,
Just had nightmare with my car. It started to over heat all of a sudden and when opened bonnet could see expansion tank had spat out some water across engine. Opened the top of tank and found water had small amount of oil in it.
Opened radiator cap and top of rad had small amount of emulsified oil and water on.
Flushed rad and tank out and car runs ok for now. it had a new head gasket water pump and radiator in Jan this year by previous owner and I got the reciept so thought all would be ok. anyone have any advice ?

Sounds like the head gasket has gone again bud.

do you know if the head was skimmed & tested at the time the gasket was renewed ? its gone quite a time since the gasket was changed so i would think your unlucky if it has gone again, i hope it hasnt mate you can get the system checked at a garage

Hi Fogman,
Yes I have reciept for the work and it does say the head was skimmed and pressure tested.
also new water pump timing belt etc

Unfortunately it does sound like the head gasket has gone again. it is possible it wasnt refitted correctly. I wonder if the garage will offer some sort of warranty on their work?

Hi Sir doris,
i have tried to see if they would warranty the repair but the previous owner contacted them very kindly for me and they said cos it was more than 6 months the would not help out.
my colleague has said try doin it myself and I have started but got a quote for gasket and it was £79 and they have to order cos none in the country. i tried link in previous e mail but no one b=got back to me yet.
hey poor fronty sat on drive lookin very sorry for her self.

I will give them a shout monday if I get it stripped down,poor girl.
