urgent question 3dr 2 ltr sport - exhaust

(Apologies to moderators I couldnt find right section to put this in.)
I have a very urgent question!

I have had an on going problem with the exhaust on my R reg 2ltr 3dr sport. at the last Mot the exhaust centre section was replaced but the garage couldnt get the exact same part so one of the mountings did not fit properly? I was just awaiting a new part. However whilst out driving this morning the tail pipe has snapped clean off at the base to the last box/ expansion chamber. The chamber seems to be held on securely, I have removed the broken pipe. What I need to know urgently is the car ok to drive untill monday when I can get to garage and is that legal?
Or am I reduced to walking?!

As long as its not to noisy you will be legal, I drove mine like that for over a week before I got time to fit the new exhaust, and that only took half an hour

As long as it's just the tail pipe (i.e. the silencer etc is intact) and the exhaust is not excessively noisy, then you should be fine until Monday. There are a few on here that have shortened their tailpipes, or have put the big bore ends on. At absolute worse a copper having a really bad day might give you a 7 day ticket, but it is very very unlikely.
