Buying a Frontera ?

Postby FronteraS on Sun Aug 30, 2009 4:55 pm

Hallo!!
hope this is the right place to post my Q.
I am a new here and are thinking of buying a Opel Frontera diesel ,..
But what modell is best 2,2 , 2,3 , 2,5 or the 2,8 ..
I know that the 2,5 is a really super bad pooh engine :butt: , (experience from Cherokee and Voyager)

But is the other better ?

or should i buy a Land Rover :D

anything else to watch out for ? I am not in to offroad , need a big car that is legal to tow my horsebox 2500kg

Are all Frontera 5 seat ? or is there any 7 seater ??

I hope it was possible to understand my bad english spelling . :?:

Regards
Martin

Dont know where you got your info on the 2.5 mate. They have a good reputation over here.
All the models are good if looked after and treated properly. Diesel is best for MPG or pulling power, petrol if you desire speed or less noise. There are 2 variations, SWB and LWB.

Hallo again ,,

thanks for fast answer,,

I am looking for a 4 door LWB and Diesel is the only option with todays petrol price ..

dont know how it is in UK but in sweden there is special "dieseltax" on the vehicle , on a Frontera = almost 800 pund every year

OK in Sweden the vinelli Morelli (2,5 diesel)or what the name is are very bad , the cylinder head cracks in the exhaust outlet ,and it is best to change all 4 heads at the same time ,, expensive c:a 1600 pund

it is a lot of problem with this engine that why JEEP cherokee diesel is so cheap to buy , here anyway

Strange if the 2,5 dont have the problems there ,, could it be the cold whether here ??

so that was why i wondered if the 3 other dieselengines are good better best of 2.2 D , 2.3 D or 2.8 D.., dont know but is the 2,8 a Isuzu engine ?

but your caravan cant be like heavy as my horse box 2,5 ton loaded with 2 big horses .. rangies ? range rover is not an option :D maybe a land Rover Discovery (not v8) or Defender 110SW ,But prices on Defender are 3-4 times a Frontera
,Some discoverys are 7 seater and that i like
