dealer parts only why

hi all why when anything goes wrong on the 2.2 frontera lwb does it always have to be dealer parts
cam shaft sensor was told had to come from vauxhall only has there had been probs with it .
exhaust can only come from dealer got mine done at tiptop stainless steel.
radiator went as i was away with the caravan this week. luckally the old girl managed to get the van back home has the leek was at the top the plastic split .
rang around a few places can only get them from vauxhall dealers cost me £204 had searched on ebay for a used 2.2 one none. then i noticed one for a 3.2 that looked the same at £54 used. some one tell me they are different so i have not wasted £104 thanks . but why can new parts only come from vauxhall no aftermarket jobs

Radiator is 2.2i only not used in other models
Camshaft & other sensors are all available as after market

I get most of my parts from General Traffic (used to be Potteries Motor Factors) - they've had all but one part in stock on the shelf in the past. Had a quote for a new radiator for my sport at just short of £80 from them. Might be worth keeping them in mind for the future
