It's exactly what it says on the tin....

Is this hole meant to be there? It's on the right hand side of the engine just below the dipsick pipe. It doesn't have any sharp edges but it looks a little wrong to me. I found it when cleaning muck and oil off the engine. I'm of the opinion that if its meant to be there then there should be a cover. otherwise i run the risk of stones, muck, oil and the likes getting in and knackering the fly's teeth and possible contaminating the clutch.

can't find any bits of metal anywhere ,all the teeth look ok for a motor that's getting close to 100,000 miles

Looks like the flywheel bahind it, not sure if theres an inspection hole there. Need a 2.0 expert.
Fronty no.4, pimp mobile Treg 3.2 LWB lifted 2.5"

Fronty no.5 2.8 swb hd coils +2" 31"machos.

The hole looks to be too irregularly shaped for it to be a factory hole. As the folks said block it up with summat.
I also drink Port and I'm not ashamed to say it!

Actually I found it on saturday but I just couldn't bring myself to accept that it wasn't a VX thing (some of their welding hasn't been great in the past and we don't want to get into the metal and paintwork thing)

couldn't find anything regarding inspection holes or the like here (FOG) or any of the other vx sites, so that's why i asked. deep down I knew it shouldn't be there. I'm going have to plug it. somehow .sods law and all that knowing my luck I'd end up with a diamond the size of ben nevis in there ripping teeth and god knows what else off..

as usual FOG comes to the rescue, hopefully I can be of some help to one of our members oneday.
