my mate has got a 1993 2lt petrol one that will not start i have had a look at it and it has no spark and no fuel coming though i have no idea about these does any one have an idea what could be wrong

no spark AND no fuel I would hazard a guess at the immobiliser,but as ever best start point would be have the codes read :wink:

...probably a bit of onion or smelly cheese fallen somewhere it shouldnt be....

...or not enough garlic additive in the fuel...

...or just to many bits made of plastic to get a decent neutral return anywhere... :shock:

Just a thought...its not parked next to a german car is it...?

only it might be surrendering not broken down??? :lol:

Back on topic
Mate had one of these and that was a pain in the :butt:

first I'd check immobilizer althou this was never the problem on his
on my mates one it turned out to be a sensor that tells the position of the crank or cams not sure which, think it may have been crank as it was positioned near the bottom of the engine
apparently if this sensor dosen't work as it should then you will get no spark etc
He had many problems with his in the end changed all the coil pack thingys and leads

update

i have now found out off him what happened he was trying to plug his trailer lights in and forced the plug in the wrong way round blowing the ignition fuse cutting out the car he replaced the fuse and the car started back up he then drove down the road and it cut out failing to restart :?:
