Insurance renewal?

I have 10 years NCB but I had a minor prang earlier this year, so my question is,

When I come to renew or change my insurance company do I have to state that I made a claim even though I have protected NCB discount?

So does that mean that even though I made a claim they should still give me the discount even if I change companies?

sorry for the questions, I havent got much experience of dealing with insurance companies hence 10yrs NCB

They should do seeing they were protected and if they
want your buisness.

The protection on your NCB is down to your present insurer & as such is non transferable

You wont loos all you NCD but you will loose a percentage :evil:

I found that out after vandalism damage to my old sport, then a year later my insurance company wavered any vandalism claims on your policy but mine counted as it was before they started the scheme, nissed off ??? ohh yerrrr they have me hooked on thier policy for another 18 months at least :roll:

Your NCB protection is only given and used by your present company. Your discount goes with you, but the next company decide whether to offer the protection.

All the above is true, the new company will decide whether or not you keep your protection. However, as your NCB was protected, you still have full NCB (max of which is 5 years by the way, no matter how many years you stay accident free). Therefore, while the new company may not offer you prtection, you will still have full NCB.

I think with my insurance Co I was allowed 3 crashes a year before it would effect my No Claims Discount as I protected them..

But being a female have never claimed on my insurance :dance:

(touch wood!) as it has always been a male who has gone into me :wink:

Oh apart from, when I landed in a field, but then I didn't have fully comp insurance on the car :lol:
