MOT Ripoff

Put the new truck in for its MOT last thursday and it failed on the brake pipe over the rear axle, says to the bloke how much for you to do it ? He scratches his head and say's £50. I said you got to be joking I can do it for a tenner. He say's do it then! So I rang Fuddy and he got me the pipe unions and oil all for the princley sum of £9.50. Did the job in half an hour, bled the whole system to get out the black brake fluid aswell. Took it back for the retest and he bent down, said oh yes a new one! He went away brought me back a nice new MOT and promptly charged me £15 for the privellege. Even though i did the work and not them i saved myself £25.50
Morrel of the story is don't allways think the garage will charge you a fair price.

Their labour charge is £40 an hour so half an our is £20+£9.50 parts £30 would have been fair price even though they allready have the parts required and it is bought in bulk at a much cheaper price than we can buy it. So they lost out in the end for being GREEDY!

Just clicked on this he charged you for a retest now that is just taking the mickey bet it was afull wack mot aswell

you got away cheap with that one mate. we were charged £98 for the same pipe as yours to be changed
And of course we had to pay it,to get it through the mot.
when i need another pipe changing bobby,i'lll call you.

Depending on the checks required for a retest only a partial retest fee may apply. I must say that I am surprised you were charged since it was only a brake pipe that needed looking at.
