anyone know about ford tractors mechanical??

got her on wed used it few times till sunday morning it wouldn start due to flat battery charged battery and checked it all out n found out its the altenator does anyone know if any other will fit ford cars ect
its a 1985 ford 8210

almost any car alternator will do you need to check mounting configuration, pulley diameter and projection and wiring layout.
Alternators are generally left or right handed, find one with built in regulator for ease of wiring.
Old lucas as fitted to brit cars is very easy to adapt reversable for left / right fitting and two wire electrics.

Only used John Deere and they never went wrong, so can't help much. Did you do an alty test or could you have a battery drain elsewhere.

i used an alterntors off rovers on a few of my fords

il keep that in mind in case the other one fails
