Hi,

After a few lanning trips I am getting to the point of no more repair on my rear bumper, see below :butt:

and as such was wondering what others that done to their rear end ON THE FRONTERA :mrgreen:

to get round this problem.

I was thinking along the lines of a door mounted number plate aka swb, and removing the bottom painted bit of the bumper and hopefully leaving the plastic checker board bit still as a step for the dogs to get in / out of.

Anybody got any pics of their rear end pref a 'B' :butt:

Also looking to get a 1.5" body lift and 2" susspension lift as well, so will I be able to do that sort of lift without needing brake pipe extensions and modding the gear levers or is it a case of try it and see>

I left the to bar cross beam on and ground the bar off, that gives a lot of protection, but I still bend the number plate and pop the number plate lights quite a lot :roll:

The body lift will bring the bumper well above the tow bar (if you have one fitted) when laning, I rem ove the detachable bit of the towbar which still leaves the heavy bracket which gives good protection to the bumper and I have moved the towing electrics to be mounted onto the bumper itself.

As for a 1 1/2" lift, you will not need to change the brake lines, but you may need to shave the gear stick channel and release the steering coupler bolt whislt lifting (remember to do it back up after)

Remember, the bumpers are attached to body and the chassis so will have to be removed and realligned

Fortunately, mine was like this when I got it:

I belive something similar is being done to a LWB though.

Ok Guys,

Struggling a bit now, Have tried to remove the rear bumper and have undone all the nuts and bolts I can find, but it still seems to be attached to the body work at the side, just behind the rear wheel.

I am trying to do a body lift and cant get the bumper off, nor can I access the last 2 "pucks" with it on. Anybody know how to get it off of a LWB B.

Read a few posts shed a few pounds, (quite a few) and now look like this
