Off roading

Alright guys im new to the site im looking into buying a frontera for a bit off fun using it for off roading can someone help me out with what engine would be best and swb or a lwb or shall I not bother with a frontera for off roading. Cheers James

well am you expecting a site with over 6000 members to say dont buy one i dont think so

but if your after one for off road they are all capable off this have a read of the forum and you will get a good idea from that

As previous plus where are you approximately ?? & have you seen Ready to rock `n roll :wink:

remember the Peak District trip, the fronties did what one of the discos couldnt

I would say the swb is slightly better offroad because of the breakover angle advantage

Honestly i had my fronty while i was going to look for a discovery but ended up keeping it a very impresive vheicle and easy to maintain some times

Bought mine for work originally then decided to keep it when I changed occupations and discovered greenlaning/offroading havent looked back since.

Iv been plenty of places that well known makes of 4x4 havent been and been stuck in plenty of places well known makes of 4x4 have been stuck too.

For the money you cant buy a better 4x4 for all occasions. Long wheel base is more comfortable on and offroad but the shorty is far more agile and manoeuvrable although a little lacking in grunt unless you go for a 2.8 or 2.5 diseisel.

A series coil sprung is probably the best bet for offroading and the later B series is probably better for laning with but thats just my personal opinion as both are equally capable but the B just seems more at home on the road to me.
