Fronty!! Maybe?

Going to see a SWB 2.5 tds 1998 106,000 tomorrow, 12 months mot, £1095, hoping we might be able to do a deal with my car!! :lol:

Check the exhaust properly and load it up to check rear springs neither of which I did and had to replace both.I was too excited to be sensible take someone sensible with you.Start it from cold before stating put your hand on the engine see if they warmed it up before you got there.Check the four wheel drive again I didnt just took the guys word that they had and when i did try it after I'd bought it there was a horrible shrieking noise i nearly died but it was only a cover plate over one of the axles in 4x4 mode and easily straightened out,Thank God. Hope this helps,Ive loved my 2.3 lwb but I,ve had anguish too.This is mainly because being self employed any time spent on the vehicle is time spent not producing. I thought that the 2.8 was the only diesel SWB A series? Correct me if im wrong.

i have the lwb 2.5 and love it

If possible ask to take it for a quick test run on the roads.The 2.5 TDS is a trusty beast if you look after it.

When buying mine went through all the checks and went through the log with a fine tooth comb but after buying found out the mechanics had been ripping the Old guy who owned it off and what was stated been done had not.This lead to a couple of problems but they are sorted now.

If possible try to get two wheels onto a kerb and have a good look around underneath.There is room but take your torch with you.

Had a look this morning! Body work was quite good, but afew times when i revved it, it stalled, so that put me off abit.

The search goes on.
