Shaky Drivers Side Mirror

My drivers side door mirror shakes at speed, meaning it's quite hard to use the glass to see what's in my blind spot etc.

Before I take it apart, any tips as to how I can rectify this ?

The electric connections and heated element are working fine. It appears to be the main body is a little loose. Can it be tightened ?

Im prety sure it can using the screw mounting on the inside under the cover.

that is correct. carefully prize off the plastic cover and there should be 3 screws holding the mirror on, just nip them up but dont over tighten as they screw into plastic thread

As above but another thing to check and probably more common then the 3 screws holding the mirror to the door is... If you carefully pop the mirror glass off you will see 2 more screws holding the mirror body to the hinge that attaches to the door. Its been ages since I tightened mine up but I think they might be star drive screws. This cured the shaking for me. A little dab of superglue on the heads to stop them coming undone again helps as well. Being careful of course not to get glue in the actual screw head.

This sounds more like my symptoms.

Any recommendations how to get the glass out without breaking it ?

take a large flat screwdriver or a smallish paint scraper, place it between the glass and mirror body and carefully prise it off, it will pop off and is held on with 4 (i think) ball clips. There are a couple of wires as well that are for the heated mirrors. Be careful when putting it back on though as its easier to crack the glass when pressing it back into the sockets then it is taking it out. Firm even pressure all round and dont force it.

when putting it back, put a bit of vaseline on your balls. If that dont work, put some on the ones on the mirror
