Do I need to remove the pulley wheel off the alternator to disasemble it and if so is it left or right hand thread. Ta.

No, just slacken the adjuster off at the top and undo the long bolt at the bottom.

Aye, strip down is what I meant. Couldn't for the life of me undo the nut and after bending 3 of the fan blades gave up. Gave the whole unit a drowning in wd40 in a vain attempt to "mend it" and refitted it. Carried out the charging test and basically it ain't I'm sick of cars, the 2.8 is the worst engine for accessing anything and if anyone had walked upto me with a crisp £50 they could've had it. Not only is it costing but it is losing me money as I can't work without it. Swap for a disco anyone? Ah thats better, blowing abit of steam
