Which to choose?

Missed out on the 2.5tds i was thinking of buying so looking around again. I need a lwb so i can fit medical equipment and spinal board in (if reqd.),scoop stretcher and s.board will probably live in a roofbox on top as i want to be able to use it as my daily drive as well. My problem is i seem to be getting different views as to which engine to go for, today i've been told to forget diesels and go for a 2.2petrol. So any help/ideas as to what you would choose ,thanks in anticipation Andy.

Hi Westo - have seen that and must admit i'm surprised the guy gets away with it as the stretcher is not secured in 
,i for one would not like to be secured to it whilst going down the road or in my case with a patient on a off-road or moto cross course.
