We are off to the Munich Beer Festival in October, then a day in Salzburg.
Has anyone had the Oktoberfest experience?
If so any tips or hints on the festival itself, tents, beer, food etc?

Not been to beer fest,but there is a nice bar in Saltzburg castle,with some stunning views.
Cable car up (it get to the bar quickly) then while you walk/roll down look at the walls both sides,they contain several large mosaics.

when i was in the Navy, I used to start drinking at 12pm then get poured back onto the ship at about 4am then back at work at 8am and no hangover. Now i get a stonking hangover after a packet of wine gums :oops: :lol: :sick:

I went last year. It is awesome.

Dont have much time post unfortunately. It can be really hard to get into the tents as they are normally packed and can be pre booked. Best bet is to find some drunk germans and go and pretend you are their best friends and jump on their table.

Its all really friendly and great atmosphere.

I wish i was going again!
