car DVD player broken

hi all i have a goodmans car/portable DVD player that seems to have broken. I have no idea whats wrong with it when you put any disk in it says no disk the disk doesn't spin and lhe lazer only moves slightly any body know any body in my area of the west mids burntwood litchfield cannock that could help.

To be honest, it's probably not worth the cost of repairing. When the kids broke our last one (plastic cow jammed inside) I replaced it with a £21 inverter (which can also be used to power other things) from Screwfix and a £17 DVD player from Tesco's (which can also be used in the house).

Looks like the sensor to detect a disk in place has gone. Might be able to have a look at it for you next weekend if you can get it over to me, but I can't make any promises as mostly these things use throwaway parts

the invertor sounds like a good idea the screen still works fine and will take an input from the little dvd player we have spare and the invertor could be used for the phones and lap top too brilliant idea thanks oh and hope the plastic cow was alright dont want any visits from the RSPCA Thanks for the offer of a fix but i'm goonna use the easy option.
