I used to mount mine on the Front bullbar, when using the long whip, and on the roof using the smaller mag mount.
One of the vehicles I contemplated buying had some sort of bracket fitted to the rear door hinge, which was kind of nice because it was hardly noticeable when the whip was removed.
As I'll be refitting my CB next week to my new Fronty (hopefully) I'd like some alternative location advice.
Regards
Mark

Just for total ignorance I have my MAG mount one mounted behind the rear seat INSIDE the fronty.
Dont know what its like for range as its only used for lanning and seems to be Ok for the range the lead truck gets to.
Tried it on the roof and on the bonnet but it kept getting knocked off when on tight bushy lanes.

Mines here now its working too! Had to remove the mounting bolt for the roof rails and remove the paint. Fit nice clean flat washer beneath a new nut (M8 standard nut) Also removed some of the powder coating from the ally roof bar and the roof rail to ensure a good grounding. Now the aerial is tuned in it seems to work fine.

The best place is in the middle of the roof, this gives you the best ground plane (earth) but most of all swr you cb in properly otherwise you will knacker it quicker than you bought it ! the lower the swr reading the better. Dazza.

7" Mag mount on the roof. Have gone under plenty of low lying trees and wot nots without a hitch. With mag mounts a whippy coil (spring shaped at the base) aerial is a good start. I only use my cb for greenlaning so dont need a permanent fixture.
I also drink Port and I'm not ashamed to say it! Me Truck

I got a huge twig on the roof rack, keeps fighting with the Holly tree in my front drive. Used to go off the Bullbar as its nice and easy to bring it inside the cab through the grometts in the passenger bulkhead.

Totally agree with Nitro I have a Siro mega watt 4000 on my fronty i hit a low branch the other day(ON ROAD) at about 50mph and only just did it rip the mag mount from the roof so there is no way when lanning you would rip it off, so if you don't mind spending a bit more on your aerial go for one of these, when it used to be on top of my work vehcile i could hit railway lines with it (not recommended) works vehcile was a volvo fm12 globetrotter !! but the longer your whip the more range you will get.BUT DON'T FORGET TO SWR IT IN !!! Dazza.
