frontera b air con and petrol filler

2004 54 reg 2.2 olympus sport. When the air con is switched on is the compressor meant to cycle on and off probably every 30 seconds to a minute? Also does anyone else have fun when filling with petrol,that the fuel pump keeps clicking off unless you hold it just in the filler mine will do it about 20 times from empty.....

only insert an inch or 2 and at a slight angle, and dont use the full trigger
