Service Checklist

Hello all,

Could anyone advise me as to the essential maintenance/servicing tasks that should be carried out and a regular basis?
I know I am a mechanical moron but I was hoping that I could do most of the general stuff myself rather than having to pay a garage to do it.

I know I should change the oil, oil filter but friends have also mentioned oil for gearbox and transfer box etc and also confused me by telling me to use thicker oil in high mileage engines!

Just a simple checklist would be great.

you need to use engine oil for the g/box and transfer case (10w/40 mineral oil)

as long as the services are reasonably regular (every 3yrs or 6k miles) you should be fine

don't forget the fuel & air filters ......

also check (replace if necessary) the brake pads (front & rear)

Pump some grease into any nipples you can find on front & rear prop shafts.

There's a basic schedule in the Haynes manual. That would be a good start.

I have just had a quote of £188.00 + VAT for a garage to service the Fronty! Needless to say I will be be doing the work myself!

Just hope I get a Haynes manual for Fathers Day! LOL
