Oil strike and fuel, shortage.

Just thought i would open a thread up to maybe help, if fuel starts to go short.

The idea is that members can let us know where stations have petrol and those that dont as i went to two this morning down here in the smoke and they were sold out except for one pump, so i managed to get some.

i just rember how bad it was before, as i worked in a petrol station during the period of the last bad strike, then i was lucky as we kept petrol in the tanks for staff.

when north sea oil was found we were told we will get cheaper fuel

when we never got it they said its not the right sort of oil to make petrol & derv from

so how come there is a so called fuel shortage and prices going up if we dont use northsea oil

I had to pay £1.24 on the wat to Walse today, but around here its about £1.18 a litre of derv

No problems for Fuel in Hampshire thusfar, but considering we have Fawley refinery in Hampshire which is the biggest refinery in the UK we shouldn't go short! (though I believe most of what they do is aircraft fuel).

However diesel is £1.21 or higher in many places.

I don't need to worry, if they have a shortage and start rationing I can always get fuel... in fact I believe there are rules in place to ensure I get fuel!

No problems in worcester.. Well just one little one.. BP diesel £1.23.9

No problems for fuel in North East Hampshire so far.
There are rules in place to ensure I get fuel as I work for the emergency services (firefighter)

DOES THE PRICE OF OIL GO UP EVERY WEEK ,AT MY LOCAL TESCO (BRIDLINGTON) IT HAS GONE UP BY £0.01p EVERY WEEK FOR THE LAST 6 WEEKS
THE PRICE IS £1.20p

Same up here in Midlands, would get a better return than a bank if you parked a tanker up for six months.
