welding

HI, is there any problems i am liable to encounter when welding on my frontera, i am using an arc welder (mig), should i be concerned about sensitive electronics.

Just make sure you disconect the alternator and battery before you start welding,you should be ok

Think you should be ok.What about the gas though,only just noticed that,don't you have to remove it?

Never catch me welding to a live gas tank.....

Thought as much.Was told a while back you even have to remove them before the car goes in an oven when spraying :shock:

disconect battery and remove it,out of site out of mind,as they say

thanks for replies, I have got to remove gas tank anyway to carry out welding, but i must admit I never thought about it if i was welding somewhere else on car :oops:

There is quite a lot of misinformation surrounding LPG.
The systems are safer than petrol, so there is no more risk above the petrol risk.
The same principals apply, do not weld near pipes or tank.
Unless you have leaks in the system, lpg or petrol…

As for your onboard electrickery play safe disconnect battery.

Also when welding make sure you have a good earth for your welder earth clamp, shiny metal is best and earth as close to where you're welding as possible
