WANTED: Box Trailer...

Hi folks,

I've been looking around for a very specific trailer and I'm hoping that you can help me.. Why so specific? Basically because I have some very specific plans for it..

I'm after a decent sized trailer, but I don't want to spend a fortune as I've got big plans to strip it down and rebuild in to something completely different (more on that later).

I'm after a 6'x5' or 7'x5' or similar in size, no smaller than 5' wide for the box section of the trailer tho please, I want something I can see behind my truck

Would definitely prefer one that is leaf sprung! or even independently coil sprung if that is even available.. but leaf sprung is fine.

Don't want to spend too much, but would love the offer of a trailer... don't care if it's a metal or wooden box on top etc, because it'll be ripped off.. need a good chassis and a proper "A" frame at the front (not one of those cheap things with a straight bar). And of course decent upright supports if it's a wooden trailer.

By the way, the box section of the trailer can be wider if the wheels are enclosed, but not narrower than 5'.

HI, If you are not worried about the box part what about getting an old caravan and building it up from chassis. These are A framed with full braked and damper ditch. Why not search the adverts and also look for caravan dismantlers and breakers. They might even have box trailers too. Hope this helps, If not i have wafffffllleeeeddddd on for nothing.............lol. Malc, In Scotland.

Not a bad idea, but I'm after a trailer that is already built if possible.
I've considered a caravan chassis but think it'll be a lot more work.

I know that people have all sorts of trailers and quite often someone wants to get rid of one that is perfect for my needs... I'm just hoping someone will come up with something.
