Axle seal or brake cylinder

Some of you might have read that Im struggling to get a brake drum off(still battling :roll:

) cause I thought that the brake cylinder was leaking.But....tanight I gets under the fronty and sees that it may be an axle seal

Thinking about it,the fluid smells a bit "diffy"

If it is the seal,i dunno what has caused it to leak.
If it is the seal(opinions wanted please!) at least I can do Farley after topping up the diff oil.

I would expect the leak from the brakes to be on the other side of the disk guard

Rub a small amount of leaking fluid between fingertips,then compare by the same method brake fluid or EP 90 whichever you have..........It`s a basic viscosity test..............As the two fluids in question are so different it should be obvious which is leaking..

Studying the piccys I think it is brake fluid carrying brake dust.

Are you loosing brake fluid ?

mate make sure your axle breather aint blocked :wink:

i had a leak on the back plate on mine if that breather is blocked it creates a load of pressure in the axle,since i extended the breather its stopped altogether
