flashing glow plug light

Postby Rikfrontera on Tue Apr 08, 2008 1:36 pm

After breaking a fuel pipe connector..repairing it,bleeding the fuel and finally starting it again I get a flashing glow plug light for up to a min before it goes out.
This morning it was really hard to start, eventually she did and probably will the rest of the day but I bet in the morning its the same problem..thats if she even starts at all.
NEW GLOW PLUGS? or some other fault caused by the fuel pipe breakage?
I did still start the engine and ran it to the breakers with the broken fuel line plugged  do you think this damaged or cooked the glowplug?

Hi mate Just had a nasty thought... yes at 2.30am.... While previously repairing a broken fuel pipe connector that I heavy handedly broke
I also decided to unplug an then fasten the fuel filter heating element temperature switch  Looking in the haynes it sez to disconnect the neg terminal on the battery before doing so...Which I hadn't. The worst thing is I had no need to undo the switch in the first place.. :!:
Could this be the cause of the faulty struggled start and also flashing glowplug light once started :?:
Im wondering if i've done a fuse or relay..... instead of actually killing one of the glowplugs itself.
