i think its the converting of a petrol engine to run on water it converts H2O to HHO
by turning in water into hydrogen and to burn it using a smaller amout of fuel :drink: :drink:

we have had a post on here about it before

Hi all, nice to see some of you have heard about HHO. I have created a HHO generoter and acquired the remaining parts to install on my fronty and my motorbike and then moving on to my classic cars this has been the longest part. So far all shows good results, as I continue I will post final results here if all ok with the governing body. 8)

short and sweet version here sorry about the spelling...

right basically its just making Hydrogen and oxygen gas from water by electrolysis by running DC power from the car battery (any where from 6 - 60amps) the amount of amps depends on how you construct and wire your "generator" (collection of positive and negative plates) currently mine draws about 14 amps and produces roughtly 2ltr/min of hydrogen.

from screwfix i bought :

stainless steel double blank switch covers
stainless steel 90mm threaded m8 bolts
stainless steel M8 washers
stainless steel m8 nuts
nylon washers.

Basically you need to construct the plates in the manner below using the bolts nuts and washers to hold the plates together into a small generator whilst not allowing the positive and negative plates to touch.
+-+-+-
||||||

once power is run through the plates whilst the generator is submerged in distilled water the electrolysis will produce oxygen from the positive plates and hydrogen from the negative plates these gases can then be fed into the inlet on the engine im feeding mine into the vacume inlet bething the air filter.

as this is a gas on demand system there is now storage of gas to catch fire although i recommend running it through a makeshift fire guard. Once the gas if produced from the generator and collected into the tubing allow it to bubble up through another container full of water thus creating a fire guard. note try to keep the piping from the fire guard to the engine to a minimum thus reduceing the amount of gas that can catch fire in the worst case.

hope this helps?? maybe someone else could explain better... although i will get some pictures up if people want?

this is an absolute idiotic idea.

i electrolyse water in lessons and find that if you get the right proportion of hydrogen and oxygen within a small party balloon it will create a HUGE explosion with the slightest spark. It has been known to render people deaf.

In a vehicle , the risks are mad. If youve an arcing electric connection or dodgy HT leads you could create an underbonnet explosion. If you had an accident, say goodbye to you - your passengers and the vehicle your in collision with.

ive a video from bmw education showing a huge fuel cell in the back of a 7 series, this works fine because it is in a controlled environment, closed and not home made.

If youve ever seen an exploding car battery it is due to the same gas mixing in the correct proportion with oxygen in conjunction with a spark.

This happens every time someone hear the word hydrogen and oxygen and knows everything about it and tells the person who is actually trying it that they are stupid and are driving a bomb. Hhhmmm I don’t suppose the same was said about LPG cars when they were being talked about??

Before you start criticising people you may liked to off asked how it was mounted or implemented in the car, I only said it was a basic explanation I told you nothing about how I it was mounted or what containers the generator is in or about the pipe work or circuit diagram.

I also stated that it was in a 2.8tdi as well.

Please note this is a hydro booster and not a fuel cell.

Please refrain from calling people idiots before you ask appropriate questions you only make yourself look the fool! I thought teachers were meant to encourage people to ask questions about subjects that they don’t have the required information on and not to assume things??

If you look on the internet and do a bit of research people have been building these "hydro boosters" for years there are many forums on the subject and hundreds of patented designs.

Hi all, hang on before anyone start to rush out and buying the said items, you have to allow and work out engine's as petrol is different then diesel also electronics to take into consideration. If any body is very interested I can obtain the all of the said items required, its took several mouths to get these contacts and I am glade to help with this mater, as we all know petrol isn't cheap any more. e-mail me direct sos.comp@tiscali.co.uk

just happens that when i went to my fathers unit today he was assembling one of these thingybobs for a truck which will have 6 cells.he showed me how it works and am impressed, the cells are also located in a steel box so that they can be located somewhere on the vehicle.afterwards did a search for info on these hydrogen cells and came up with a diagram for a diesel engine which was very simple to do.wired to the ignition and a pipe from the cell thats fixed to the air intake duct that carries the hydrogen.the only thing thats worrying is if it carries water to the intake which would cause spluttering.i'm really considering having a go,might be better than the bio.

Yes the diesel is the easier one between the two but first check the engine construction on older models first.

Thank you Wave for your very quick reply regarding sceptic believers, if they read more closely they would understand that there is a difference between hydrogen and HHO.
