Speedo :-(

Postby aadams1x on Sat Mar 15, 2008 11:57 pm

I have a problem with my speedo sometimes it is stuck on 140mph all day, other times it starts at 0 and then ticks up in 20mpg intervals until 140 and other times it works fine...but this is normally for very short periods... Anyone know what this might be... The milage still goes up fine....

Remove dash cluster, see if anything is loose or untoward and refit,

The plastic cogs on the motor could be sticking, I had this problem with my old sport and every now and then a sharp thump to the top of the dash sorted it, not being a perfectionist I kind of lived with it

Though you can take the cluster out and check it, the crcled bit is what you need to check
