help with a squeak

Postby Silver Ghost on Sun Mar 09, 2008 1:42 pm

Hi guys, Not sure which forum to post this as i am not sure where the squeak is coming from.

Over the last couple days, i have noticed a squeak coming from drivers side, i cant hear it inside the car, but hear when the window is down. at 30 to 40mph, i can hear nothing due to road noise, but at around 20mph i can hear it.

i have also rocked my truck, to see if any noise from suspension, all seems quiet on that side. also had all back bushes replaced 9 months ago if that helps.

I dont think its a binding break as it seems to be intermittent. i dont get any sound from the breaks when breaking either. My gut feeling is that its coming from back drivers side wheel,

car was MOTed 2 months ago, and wheel bearings were ok, but could this possibly be a dry wheel bearing maybe. would these start to squeak.

thanks.

Have you kept the prop-shafts greased up.....I had an old Victor that used to eat shafts and the first sign was squeaking from under the car as the joints siezed up.
What have I told you about Thinking Erroll??

Whenever I've had a squeak from the front it's normally been a ball joint.
