Am I going Mad?

Postby MSI64 on Fri Mar 07, 2008 4:04 pm

I have a question that someone out there in Fronty land may be able to answer.
After last weeks disaster where my wheel came off my Beast, I have had her fixed and all seems fine However!!!!

My Fronty now feels funny as if the steering is loose. Im also constantly listening for the smallest sounds. Is this normal after having a smash?
Am I being paranoid? Im even considering selling her as I dont seem to have as much fum driving her Please help me out someone
Cant get the 4x4 out of my blood

Perfectly normal I would think. I loaned mine to a supposed friend and he crashed it 200 yards down the road. It took me a year or so before I started to forget about it. I get a similar feeling when I drive other cars and then drive the fronty again, except it only lasts for a couple of miles in that case.
I also drink Port and I'm not ashamed to say it!

I had a similar thing after a tyre burst whilst I was driving my ex's Corsa, on the M26 at 70MPH (honest). Ended up sideways with the nose buried under the central barrier and missing the drivers side wheel and everything attached to it. For about a year after no matter what car I was driving I was always "hearing" noises (no comment) and became overly cautious.
If you're sat there thinking things just can't get any worse, just wait......

if you are still slightly over cautious just take it to another garage just to get the wheel checked ya its more money but it a good piece of mind you will have in return :D

isnt one reason for owning a 4x4 that most accidents wont be as bad as if we was in a normal car ?

you a foot shorter? that would be small....ya right though safety of yaself and family comes first everytime

So if ya suspect a noise just have a quick check make sure nothing has allen off the fronty !

To be honest safety begins at the driver, the vehicle is a variating factor in the equation, you can be killed in any vehicle and you can be kill by any vehicle, the only mitigating factors are other peoples Acton's.

my biggest accident was when i got my off side rear quarter cliped by an artic on a narrow(ish) A road ..
the mk4 escort estate i was driving ended up about half the size of an old mini atfer the lorry made the car spin around on the road then fly over a hedge ...wouldn't have been that bad but the road level was 20ft higher than the level of the field that i landed in ....

me and my mate walked away with just a couple of scratches  ....we were very lucky ...as the same day a brand new pug 406 came off the A30 and the passenger was killed instatly and the driver never re-gained consciousness
