Fault code p0405 - help please

HI guys

after finding my diagnostic port i was able to read the fault code that is causing the engine light to come on.

p0405 - exhaust gas recirculation sensor "a" circuit low

can anyone suggest how to approch this?

Vauxhall last scanned the car and said that it was an o2 sensor (of the 4 i have replaced 2 recently) but this error code seems to suggest something else?

any ideas?

Test procedure on autodata goes;
Wiring short to earth
EGR valve position sensor defective
Or ECM fault

Check egr plug connections are clean
Measure the voltage at the plug (harness to the EGR valve) wire that’s black with yellow stripe and ground. Above 11v
Red and ground 4.8 v
Red to green 4.8 v
It’s also worth removing the EGR and cleaning carbon away

Thanks for that, will make sure i take it easy on the studs!!! Hopefully this will clear the problem and i can have a few months of engine light free fronty ownership

Spray some penetrating oil on them over a few days prior to removing them.
