Was wondering last night whilst sipping a glass of 'peckers :D about how many of us use Skype as its a useful & free way around the telephone number problem :wink: Could there be a link placed on a members profile to it,admin ?
Im on as (you guessed it :lol: ) brachunky.

It's a fair hack to get it in as a proper profile field with a button/icon and all - I will look at it down the line somewhere. :lol:

Actually - it's a pain in the backside alot of times, mostly because they don't want to share their protocols with anyone, making interoperability an absolute nightmare! :lol:

I'm all for voip - but I am a big believer in open source

I use both skype and teamspeak...even run my own Teamspeak server when I can be bothered to turn it on !

Daughter lives in Singapore and Shanghai before that , we talk every Sunday morning, it has a 3 second delay but who cares its free,

I rang my brothers telephone at Christmas time for Christmas 2006 and spent an hour and a half on the phone from Skype to his landline in Australia.

It cost me a grand total of about £0.35 or something, and it was as clear as a normal phone call!!

But then again, I've got a proper USB Skype phone to plug in to my computer... and when I'm not there my skype diverts to my mobile, I've also got a skype-in number in Australia :D

Also got a SKYPE mobile.. so people can call me free on the go! And I can call their computers or skype mobiles for free as well!!!! (if anyone else has one of these then let me know)

If you want my skype details you have to PM me tho.. Got two skype accounts, one for computer one for mobile.

don't really use it all that much.. but I'm prepared to use it for virtually everything when I've got a better, faster internet connection... and when I can convince more people to get similar technology.. :D
Like getting my mates to get Skype mobile phones etc..

I got the Skype-In number so that my brother can call me in the UK (where he has very slow internet connection) by dialling a telephone number in Sydney, so unfortunately he has to still pay for a long distance call, but it is cheaper than calling the UK.
