It's referenced in the Haynes manual as the EDC - Electronic Diesel Control Unit - so I guess the function of the ECU would be the same?! I note that there are a few relays to the LHS of the passenger footwell behind the plastic cover. Can't see anything with the number of connections that the EDC/ECU would have down there.
Why on earth do the Heater Fan Motor relay control 12V/0V come from this unit? Logic escapes me.
Anyhow thks for feedback - I'll go hunting for it this weekend..JB

Ah jj. Good reply. Just seems overly complicated when it could have simply come from the switched side of the ignition switch.
Had a nose under the carpet on the passenger side, couldn't see any ECU gubbins with a torch tonight!!!
Is it in a cut out in the floor? Being a bloke, if it doesn't jump out at me and shout I don't see it!

Isn't it great how much progress you can make gioven a warmish dry bright day.
Persisted in hunt for ECU and as advised there the shiny little bugger was hiding in the foot well.
All checked and put back together - problem isolated to circuit supplying the Air Con which is a spur off the supply the the fan. So I've pulled a 20A fuse in the cabin and relay K80 RHS footwell , green 4 pin.
Fan works fine now. Will save investigation on AC wiring for longer daylight hours.
Thanks for all your assistance on this.
I took some pics that I can upload if someone can post instructions or I can email them to a moderator?
Ta. JB.
