Nothing too major, pulled the instrument cluster out and changed the bulb for the handbrake ON/brake fluid level warning light, simples

. Got to pluck courage to change the steering idler now, mines got a little play in the bushes

with WD40 ready for the 2" suspension lift tomorrow on the 2.5

found replacement universal 02 sensors for my truck for £15 notes each and from the next village made me laugh after looking at £109+ from local motor factors. http://performancepartsauto.co.uk/Oxygen_O2_Lambda_Sensor_4_Wire_Universal.html

laid underneath and got sensors ready for removal pulled the cable off and decided to let it run for a while to run some of the injector cleaner to run through while it is sat there and it ran quite well for about 20 mins before stalled and then when i went to fire it back up would not fire as it was flooding itself and then a nice little bang as the maf sensor ignited the fuel vapor coming out the carbs into the air box.

that used to live here on the front of the maf sensor lol

maf is still working so going to have to nip down the pound shop for a metal tea strainer to replace the honeycomb using the mesh

will do when i get the 02 sensors as its just a case of cuting the plug off the old one and crimping the new on the end of the similar colored wires.

will do one of the maf repair as looking for the honeycomb but as it is only to keep the any bit particles that get through the air box out i think the tea strainer mesh should do fine. :thumbup:

will know more one i get round to it over the weekend

still cant believe how cheap they are £15 a peice for the 4 and cheaper for the 3 and 2 and 1 wire versions small local firms cant beat them.

no need to refit the mesh dean. but yeh the universal lambdas are ace the main cos are the plugs. as for my truck ive put more fuel in it. so much for 2.2's being unreliable

lol no i didnt after looking at it in day light :shock:

but i started it after fitting a new (to me) battery to check the battery could turn it over as its only a 650cca and the old 1 was a 750cca and oil light went out straight away

. That said the battery did come out of a 3 litre straight 6 volvo so shouldnt really strugle with a 4 pot 2.2

Got the cylinder head off and in the boot of the car, Will have a good like in the daylight tomorrow but it had definitly gone on number 1 cylinder. Nice to finaly meet you Frank (Snapper)

Pumped up my slow puncture again and decided that tomorrow after work I'll change front and rear diff oils my fuel filter and borrow a grease gun and grease some nipples, I might while I'm down there extend the diff breathers.

All this if I can pick up a spanner, damaged a tendon in my hand Wednesday and not liking the pain happily shares with me
