WHAT YOU DID TO YOUR TRUCK TODAY!

Well i left cambridge at about 6. And now at 20 to 9 im back in cambridge. The front crank seal has gone again...made it to the very start of the a11 (j38) and boom. No pas, dim head lights and some smoke (oil being sprayed onto the exhaust). Got recovered back to my mates house and we about to try again in my mates polo...so no chance of me getting stuck in norwich

lol. Oh well. All in the name of fun eh

I started cleaning it. Started inside cleaned and vacd then got bored and took Elise to the Park as it was a nice day :mrgreen:

How many front and rear crank seals has that truck had ? :shock:

Technically two replacement rear ones, and one front one. Though the rear ones are partly due to another issue which chewed up the first replacement rear one. The crank end was scored and bust the first replacement one we put in. The second time round RobFog and I spent about 2 hours under the truck with some very fine wet and dry and a pot of oil turning the crank end into a mirror finish to avert the second seal we installed from meeting the same fate. That was a very tedious job.

im telling u its allergic to its own oil. It always finds a way to get rid of it. But on the upside It needed a oil change

I seem to remember the front crank seal went at the annual last year. That hasn't lasted long at all

I hoovered the dash gave a fwipe down with glass cleaner and gave whole cab a hoover got rid of the dead stuff and spiders web

I then went round looking for rust not as bad i thought on rear crossmember Two rear inner arches and a sill have corrosion, both lower part offront wings need repaired.

I then discovered why the bonnet was never fully closed :shock:

I seriously think you have a blocked breather somewhere Dan.

I washed the truck and the Astra
Changed my wipers to the flat blade type
Sorted out a squeaky brake
And then it rained again :roll:

Replaced near-side lower ball joint

(I know I know.. I'm great) other side tomorrow

Went laning :dance:

now i this week i have got new shocks for the front and wow the difference
wile i was taking them off i found out the 2 front shocks were different :wtf:

now i just need to sort it out and mount it

now debadged including b pillar stickers (just gotta clean the residue off), rear bumper and tow bar removed - still cant get the front one off - grinder next :shock:

discovered the benefit of a good handbrake as brakes failed today - pipe on off side block has corroded and split - very entertaining coming to a width restriction and another car coming the other way :crazy:

took my drivers door and wing off and welded the top door hinge area up after it cracked and dropped yesterday while out laning in wales with a certain admin and friends and as usual batterys to low to take pics while they were off but all dun now and door shuts good again oh and fixed back plastic arch extension bac on just need to wash all that stinky crap off it now mite do a before and after pic of it ?? rite were are those new batterys

Saw the car was fogged up due to severe condensation, the folded up boot carpet has mostly dried but the moisture is being held in the portion below the rear seat - I can see a frustrating job of freeing the seized seat bolts coming along
