Well I am a numpty :wall:

Richard fitted my new alternator today,the old one only did half a spin and was well shot:lol: ,all went well till :shock:

Richard put the volt reader on, it was losing one AMP every second,Richard spent most of the day trying to find the fault,it turned out to be my front fog lights,I did a redneck repair with a bit of tin foil to get them working :roll:

so he has discounted them and its stop losing voltage :wall:

So new alternator fitted, and he also fitted me a new Manifold gasket and studs for me, only cost me £110 in total :drink:

The bloody bulb keeps coming lose so I folded some tin foil up and packed it out,but the tin foil came undone :oh yer:

Well the speedo aint to far out barley noticable infact, should be better for pulling though

. Today i fitted new split pins to all ball joints and track rod ends, cleaned the grease of the front brakes, washed it, hoovered it, polished the interior and cleaned the windows.

Removed my well rusted bull bar and had a good look around the front only to discover the whole front end from the inner wheel arches near the front body mounts and the lower body cross member (that holds the radiator) is basically totally rotten :shock:

so now have to figure out if its possible to repair

Rob, Colley had that issue with his 2.8 and repaired it, pop a post in the bodywork section and the fixes will flow :wink:

I seem to remember a post at some point with the same issue. Trawling through the bodywork section now

Fitted a new HD battery. Jump starting it off the 2.5 every morning was getting embarrassing.

gave it a wash...then drove it to work this morning with a smile back on my face, didn't have the radio on for once so i could hear it purring along..so smooth (unlike the old block, that knocked and just ran lumpy)..still need to fix the slight blow from the reducer ring, between the cat and center pipe...

Yesterday I had a very busy day almost full of bad luck. Went out yesterday morning, upon opening the front door discovered one of the cats had been sick by standing in it so cleared that up. As I made my way to the parents house mum phoned me and wanted a few bits picking up from the wholesalers so I spun round and headed over there. Getting near the wholesalers I stopped at a red light only to be rear ended by an old guy in a new ish Civic who had the cheek to ask me what I was playing at and where I was going. Checking the caravan over as me and the other half are going away for a few days only to discover it had a gas leak some where. And to top it off both the Vauxhall alarm and my upgraded Toad cat 1 both decided to start wailing at 4:30 this morning for no apparent reason.

today i went up town and got the last bits i needed for my onboard computer
so i now have memory map and internet in my car

that will help the AA find you if you breakdown :drink:

Well today i decided to remove my front bumper and refit with the brackets that Fatbaz (Stuart) had cut and welded a 50mm extention into the spare front bumper mounts now my bumper should match the body lift.......just need to mod the bullbar tomorrow to allow the bumper to come up behind it.
