I charged the battery up,and then changed the main fuse

Then I thought it would be a good idea to check the live and the negative on the alternator,I put my spanner on the live and then I hit the battery tray :twisted:

Put it this way it bloody hurt :twisted:

SO its going to get recovered tomorrow up to Richards New work shop

I fitted a new Alternator as the old one was only supplying 11.8 volts and I had to keep stopping every few miles to get a jump start and charge from good willed passers by!

Glad it's done now, Electric cars will never catch on!!

Mine reading is 14.8 and then goes to 10.1 and then goes up again and then the engine cuts out :oh yer:

and blows the main Fuse :silent:

Sounds like you have fried the rectifier on the altenator to me Jason

Started her for the first time in almost 3 weeks...and did so without the usual fuss. :shock:

I put a whole £50 of diesel in, and checked the tyre pressures....all but one said 39psi (I know they heat up with use, but pretty sure they shouldn't get that high) so dropped them to 35. The final one said 22psi...so increased that to 35 also. Think I'll have to keep an eye on that one.

Then I went for a drive up to the monster-in-laws...oh the joys! :twisted:

On the way home we (the wife and I) stopped off for a delicious, BARGAIN, 3 course meal. Including drinks.....LESS THAN £15!!! RESULT! :drink:

Oh yeah I forgot, just purchased some manual Hubs for mine

To stick in my fuel Tom, it lubes the pump as new type diesel doesnt have sulphur and the additives are not much cop on the old engines, I add this is only for diesels.
Mike reminded me in one of his posts as I meant to do it months ago.
