Fudster Fracture update .......

Yestersday I decided in my wisdom to stop taking my pain killers cos they are knocking me out. 30-40 minutes after I take them I'm asleep. :shock:

Bad Idea !!!! The pain is unbearable, not the actual shoulder break, but the muscles and ligaments. It feels continuously like when you get cramp in the back of you calf in the middle of the night.

On the plus side, I have got a slight bit more mobility in the arm, but I still cant lift it, push or pull it by myself. Bruising is now also appearing on my arm.

doh thats why they call them pain killers :oh yer:

Fudster Fracture Update :

Been for a follow up Xray and Check up this morning to determining How things are going.

Well there is some good (semi) and Bad news.

The Semi good news is ......... My arm as not fell off yet. :shock:

No seriously it turns out my shoulder bone is in two pieces and the only thing holding the two pieces together is the muscle tissue. The bad thing about that is upto 14-16 days after the initial damage, the muscle can still seperate from the bone, resulting in the bone "just dropping away". Which will them need to be pinned and screwed in place. :cry:

I'm still not out of the critical point yet, as it's only been 8 Days since the accident, but the consultant said things are looking reasonably good because usually the muscle has detatched within this time span, So fingers crossed.

Still got no use in the arm at all due to the muscle damage, and my whole arm is bruised from shoulder to elbow.

Now the BAD NEW ..........

I have been told I can't drive for at least another week.

, Maybe upto 10-12 weeks. :shock:

GWR attempt is in 5 weeks

I "WILL" Be there, even if the arm falls off. :lol:
