With respect Steve, thats a similiar style (albeit slightly higher lift weight) to the little halfrauds one I've already got. And trust me , they ain't built to last

These ones I've just got weigh a ton, and don't creak and moan when they jack up the Fronty either which always made me nervous :shock:

thanks for the heads-up mate. Any way of telling the good 3-tonners from the bad? physical weight, maybe?

i got one like that it will lift the complete side of a lwb no problem

plus ive got two 2 tonners

Thats like the one i got Si and its never let me down but i still got the small jack to lift the suspention or front wishbone when im workin on it!!!

Sally tried to persuade me to weigh in by BIGGEST trolley jack today.... :twisted:

Its an oldey and needs new seals, but is a proper beast...
Its about 6 ft long and lifts from 10" straight up to nearly 3ft, and is rated about 5tonne (when it had seals that was)...
weighs about the same as a SWB fronty though! :lol:

Passed it's MOT!!!!!!!! New exhaust system, new brakes all around and some new 31'' mud tyres. Also had a go at painting the wheels.. Mud here I come!!!

today prior to going to the meet at the anchor pub filler nozzel as the tot who fitted it put it at the lowest point so it rounded out first.

oringinally it was here

under the towbar mount is where i removed it from

so now i have better clearance just need to put a couple of rails and a half inch thick bash plate to protect it

relocated the pump to behing the rear mug flap holder to allow maxuim ground clearance and still be able to fill it.
till i have usd all the gass then going to mount it in the rear bumper quater under the petrol filler

Mounted a new number plate and lights before I remove the rear bumper, to repair or replace

today i have painted 2 of my 16" steel wheels, and found the last 285/75 r16 i need, but it is £180 :evil:

and then tonight fogman came round and i changed my sus bushes from my bodge ones that got me through an mot to some nice poly bushes :dance:

Had a good gander at Sallys 2.8 shorty, with should be back on the road very soon...and decided its gonna get lowered, and Sally didnt object too much either!!!
Different wheels are going on it, and about a 4-5" drop into the weeds...will make cleaning the roof much easier, will make it different, and will save space on the drive cos Sals bonnet should fit under my 2.8's towbar!
This aint gonna get used offroad, and the paintjob doesnt look right on a more standard truck, so somethings gotta change...and downwards is the way for the glitterball!
Had a good sort out in the workshop with Sallys assistance...can see lots of floor now! :lol:

Where's all the bits you said i could have when you clean'd out your garage/workshop?????? :wink:

Its getting there...another couple of days and it will be sorted, cutting up the other landcruiser this week and getting Sallys shorty mobile again...I believe there may be light at the end of the tunnel somewhere!!! :lol:
