Refurbing the n/s/f caliper and fitted these last week as I was sick and tired of washing all the mud etc off the seats. Didn't expect much as they were only £5.95 delivered, but they fit well , are washable and waterproof

They will fit better, but I've literally just chucked them on.

a weekend who you kidding i started stripping it out tuesday got the the lump out wedensday rad for rob to run me up thursday to get new lump. spent thursday with rob trying to shoe horn it in but no joy then spent friday on my won trying to no avail but worked out that the guide olives where in both engine and gearbox.

i found the easiest way to get the engine out and in. simply undo the little panel under the drivers side exhaust manifold and then undo the torque convertor from the fly wheel. by undoing the 6 nuts then the engine when you split it only has to clear a 1inch nipple in the middle of the toruque convertor and has about 4 inch clearance stright back and up. where as if you have the torque convertor on you have to angle the enging and force the sump past the front axle to get it out and back in again with the 6inch of torque convertor to manhandle out of the way.

then it is just a case of liniig them up make sure you grease the nipple as it is a tight fit and if you get the angle wrong it will bind in the hole and it feels like your going to snapp your nuts which is what happened to me.

saturday my mate came over and helped me get the right angle and then both of us pushed the engine forward to house thenipple at a straight angle and then t was simply a case of spending 5 hours bolting every thing back together and turning the key and it rumbled striaght in to life.

turned it off so i could attach the water and change the oil and then pumped it all full of new 5w30 and fresh water just got to put some antifreeze in when i get a chance. and then it was a case of let it run longenough to switch to gas to find i had the vacum pipe on the wrong nozzle and swapped the two round and turened it back on and it jumped striaght to gas. ran a little noisey but quitening down as the new oil works its magic on the lump just need to add a pint of atf then should be good to go. as running ok as been out round the block taking it easy till i get more gear juice in.

so all in all 5 or 6 six days but considering i was working on my own for 4 of them i dont think i did to bad.

especailly as i have nearly a coplete 3.2 v6 lump up for sale. all the sensors, water pump got a head gasket kit that has only done 50 miles in car but going to kee that have spare timing belt only done a 1000 miles when i took it off the last one. and a full of tensoners and pullies. pluss one good head and one duff head. so going to have to see what people are going to offer for soe of the bits before i strip the whole thing and box it away in the shed and weigh in the bottom end and duff head for gas money

Checked tyre pressures and got truck ready for a busy week ahead.

I decided as now i had fixed it that i would fill it up with fuel and pulled in to the station hooked up the pipe and clunk full tank £31.18 got to love the lpg 40.04 liters.

thought i would chuck a tenner into the petrol tank as well while i was there.

got to the LPG

Not had anything done to the truck in a while as its been running well.

Booked it in to have the oil pump changed next week. It hasnt gone, being changed as a just in case measure.

I put 12 months tax on Beasty. :dance:

i dragged my lpg tank 100yds down the road when the straps snapped on a speed hump now held up on ratchet strapps going to derby tomorrow to get it checked over and new strappes made.

Changed all the skanky brake pipes. Used nearly 50 foot of pipe!, I couldnt believe it :shock:

, thought 25ft roll would do it easily.....no chance. All bled through with no hassle whatsoever, then off for the MOT............Fail on emissions :cry:

, CO high on all tests. One new lambda sensor later, changed on the pavement outside the spares shop and opposite test station and the 'BAG 'o' SH*TE' has another 12 month ticket.

Gave it a wash & polish, fuelled it, removed the roof spots (long days/short nights are here)

Painted the front caliper mounting brackets yellow and ripped out the front seats to fit some MR2 ones :dance:

Had a giraffe try and eat my CB aerial today at woburn safari park, so now the end is well bent lol, Also by chance met up with some local to bedford offroaders and went green laning with them before heading back home.

Finally got my 12 month green ticket last Thursday evening ... complete with an advisory list as long as your arm. Simple jobs just annoying. Mind it has reminded me to get the pump sorted as it does have a slight weep on it (they missed that one), which means I might as well do the cam belt, timing pulley, waterpump, and front crank seal while I am at it.

2 litres of atf and a pump later and now no slipping when i floor it

tip no1

find an oil atf bottle and poke a hole in the lid of a bottle for the main tube to go through then stick another hole for your tyre compressor on a nozzle to go through then when you push the tube to the bottom you can pump a liter in in seconds rather than waiting hours for it to syphon through.

tip no 2

jack your car sideways to allow a little extra fluid in then cycle trhough the gears after every half liter to push it back into the toque convertor and then keep filling it again till full

now just the lpg to sort and going there now

don't forget to check the atf level with the engine running, that's about the only thing I know about auto's tho
