WHAT YOU DID TO YOUR TRUCK TODAY!

Yep, in the wee small hours of today nipped out to retrieve a switch from the truck to just test a theory and brillianty, I got it right! So wiring diagram has been drawn, drawing of cuts/solders and connectors to use and tomorrow it should come together.
Incidentally, had been aware that for the past months there has been no illumination around the ciglighter socket. Couldn't remember if it had one but when the dashboard was in bits I found the lamp still in its holder swinging about in the behind-the-dashboard cavity. Well its clipped back into place, later today I will hopefully putthe rest of the dashboard back together.

Not well drank too much last night to point told taxi wrong address and was sick this morning ant rember anything apprently i stole every ones drinks there was 8 ppl so had cocktials lager cider an some cider with blue stuff

Well i went to the Burscough car boot again at 7am this morning and grabbed some proper bargains on tools and bits lots of spanners and ball joint splitters and other tools

then i bagged these bargains

Brand new fog lights sealed box should of been around £30 i got them £8.00

K&N Air filter £3 so filter (which was rotten) goes from this...

i got a new work/reverse light to be fitted when i get round to the fitting of a roof cage so that will be going in storage shed until then.

Refitted the drivers and centre area of the dashboard - everything working as it shoudl - once again end up with spare bolts in the box can only think i only used two for the binnacle :shock:

but will be going back in tere soon as the new dash bulb fitted is brighter than those on the opposite side so will want to balance the illumination - typical when you need three bulbs and have cash for one and a lottery ticket.......
Re-conmected the battery, whioch has been getting a trickle solar panel feed for the past week and fired up first tine.
Then went on a min i afternoon expedition towing whole pile of gear - ran like a sewing machine.

was offered 2k for it tempted

Welded in an 18" by 4" panel section from a donor sill.

Not bad i thought for a first attempt with a gasless Mig.

Still to grind back and finish off.

More of a "what I'm going to do today" post...
I want to get to the bottom of the somewhat unpleasant noises that developed from my OSF wheel in the couple of miles from the end of the M27 to my house yesterday, and the slightly soft brake pedal. Wondering if one of the brake pads has given up perhaps, as I had to top off the fluid yesterday but I've not lost any more.
Further searches have still failed to turn up the locking wheelnut key, so given that I have RAC At Home cover I'm tempted... Could buy a removal doodad from screwfix, but I get the feeling I'll want more'n one off, and I don't have a vice to extract the duff nut from the tool.
Reckon I'll get away with it, or RAC will tell me to bog off?

the tools to remove struck bolts and nuts, normally come with a punch that fits inside it, then all you do is hammer the nut out

and today i am planning to go to my scrappy, to get some bolts i lost on the a14, only 5 out of the 6 auto locking bolts :oh yer:

fired up the compressor and blew all the weekends dust out of the dash and seats

then cleaned the engine bay ...

finished off by valeting from inside out ... most of the laning scratches are gone , but i'll need to get my machine buff and G3 off
my neighbour to finish off the nasty bits :wink:

The mud just falls off,

I taken it down Aston Cantalow witch is a river crossing,only just a foot and a bit deep to day,washed all the mud of from underneath :dance:

And washed the rad out,but I still keep on getting this bloody management light come on,its driving me nuts :evil:

Doing the same with mine tomorrow Jase, the Corwen Carwash is only 5 minutes from work so it's going through there a few times after work tomorrow.

Yep its better then getting on your hands and knees with a jet wash :lol:

today i got my hub bolts from my scrappy, and found they have had a lwb in, now

and i found a few good mud tyres so may be getting them.

as well as that today i found out that i have an oil leak, it is the seal between the clutch and engine (or i think) so will be off to order one of thoes tomorrow :oh yer:

then a spanner party round mine to put it on. and i am thinking of getting a new clutch at the same time

I started to wash the bus at 2PM this afternoon...... i had finished by 5PM.
Then it took me till 6.30PM to clean the drive off......... He he he don't you just love the woods @ Avalance.
