WHAT YOU DID TO YOUR TRUCK TODAY!

I had Chugga in the local garage to get new rear shocks. Turns out I'd bought the wrong ones (got ones off a leafer), so had to get some more. So, she's back in tomorrow morning. Oh well...one step closer to getting her back on the road.

Havnae done anything as such to the Bus today, besides clear out the passenger footwell...

New UJ turned up today though, and I've hooked the wheelbearing set out of the box o' bits ready to have both fitted this weekend. That should be it for the Annual then, and will just need new shocks after for the MOT.

Then we get busy painting and sorting out the bent & scratched panels; I got me a plan :twisted:

Today I added some black, neoprene weather strips along the top side of where the doors meets the body. Doing a long trip on highway on Friday, so hopefully they'll prove themselves successful by reducing the wind-noise a fair bit :-)

I put them on top of the original ones, so I think it turned out pretty nice and as you can barely notice them being there.

From the front, if you look closely you can see how the end is cut at an angle to prevent it from being rubbed off when I close the doors.

Good idea, as they do catch the wind and are noisy

though lost cause on mine as the tyres are louder than the wind :shock:

Just have to keep the speed down then, and you will hear less of the tyres and there will be less wind :lol:

For my car it's probably the good old 2.8 diesel engine which is the noise maker numero uno... You probably have to sport some really noisy tyres if you are to outloud it :lol:

I'm having the engine out again for some work this summer so I've been thinking of adding extra noise reducing material to the bulkhead while I have the chance. Don't know if it will make any difference though :roll:

Finally got my front camini controlling arms on,and the camber all sorted,and what a difference.
I got more clearance in the front arches now :dance:

That seems like a very good plan. It would be quicker and easier than waiting for a big thick squidge (technical term :wink:

) of silicone to cure. Think I'll get me some of that

Gave mine a quick wash and hoover...spent an hour trying to figure out how to fix the petrol filler neck...today its getting the outter cv boot replaced

Just got Chugga back out of the local garage. Had the new KYB Gas rear shocks fitted that I bought yesterday. £80 for the shocks, and £20 for the fitting.

Dug out my CB magmount and SWR meter last night, only a temporary thing but at least I'll have CB for Avalanche while I rework Holly's roofrack & audio wiring.

Would've done it earlier but have been skint enough not to be able to afford the relays and things needed

I finished sorting the lights out on Chugga. Upgraded the head and side lights, and booked her in for MOT first thing tomorrow morning.

Ste, it's things like the spotlight relays and wiring, and the lightbar, plus cabling for the rear speakers and accessory sockets... I'll get cracking on it now the interior's out and I have ye funds, heh.
Might get the spots wired for the annual too, we'll see...

I have not got a clue what most of the relays are but if you need any let me know :wink:

Just been out shopping, and came across some numpty (TECHNICAL TERM) who decided to beach his Mondeo ST220 on a curb. His car was stuck on the exhaust, and as he tried to free himself was simply burning his clutch out. JIMBO AND BEASTY TO THE RESCUE...told him I had no responsibility for any damage to his car, but I was prepared to pull him out. He reluctantly accepted, and 5 min later was homeward bound.

Sadly I was laughing so much, I forgot to get pics. SORRY. :oops:
