Window winding mech arrived from guy on flea bay. Used but in good nick. Fitted it in about 30mins.
V smooth compared to old one :-)

Cost including post £30 Vauxhall quoted over £300! :roll:

1 - Fitted Alpine head unit. Rewired rear speakers. Neil Diamond in stereo = win.

2 - Completely failed to find fault in interior lamp/memory feed wiring.

3 - Overtook something on way home. Yes, overtook, it wasn't slowing or turning. Or downhill. :-D

Bit more investigation work into why my oil stayed in the bottom of the engine and nowhere near the top end..

today it was..

sump off..fine amount of 'brass' fillings..
oil pick up removed...totally blocked with what looks like instant gasket...(think this could be the whole cause of the problem)
oil pump removed and disassembled..gears gunked up with what can best be discribed as crude mixed with carbon deposits, also centre gear had jarred into the crank (result is that it's not compleatly flat)
baffle thingy removed under crank...piston number had one loose bolt..and dry (this could be the brass fillings found in sump)

once bolt tightened on piston 1, hand cranked engine and it seems to be turning over freely (dispite lack of oil)..oil pump cleaned and replaced (with cornflake box casket) engine still turns over..

plan is to re-time engine, refill oil and see if it runs, if so then new oil pump gasket, new oil pump gears, sump gasket and bearing shells will be ordered...so far it's looking good...

Fitted brand new clutch slave cylinder (big thanks to andysd1) but then 2 things have now packed up 1st the clutch master cylinder has packed up (it was a used one) and then to top it off the damn thing started hunting on idle between 1200 and 1950 rpm :shock:

at this moment in time it looks like the MAF sensor has gone nuts and packed up?? i took the airbox off and unbolted the MAF from the box covered it partially with my hand to control the airflow in and it started running right so i guess it must be the MAF

replaced the oil in the front diff, the oil that came out can only be described as milk,

it didn't taste to bad, lol, although the wife was not happy me throwing the t-shirt in the basket

lee look at your iscv first. maf causing rough running not high idle. if its hunting check for air leaks around manifold.

i removed all the naff stickers

Gaz, me and andy went through it all mate that is how me narrowed it down to the MAF but if you want you could nip down to mine the weekend and try your MAF on my truck and see what happens that way it will definately prove one way or the other if it is or not???

fitted my cb in the truck, spent 20 minutes thinking it was faulty cos the display didnt change no matter what buttons i pushed, bloody thing kept bleeping at me so i knew it was doing something, it was then it dawned on me that it still had the little sticker which mimics the display still stuck on it :oops:

took that off funnily enough everythings pukka, i know i know silly old sod

Fogman is officially a numpty ... not for missing the label, but more so for telling us he did

I however kicked it as I have noticed a brake fluid leak from the nearside rear wheel. Hoping its just a rubber hose, and not the seals. Looks like she will be up on the jack tonight.

fitted o/s droplink ... started putting the snorkel together , ready for fitting tomorrow

and shelled out £200 for a new abs sensor :evil:

one expensive lesson that was :oh yer:

changed all vac pipes today with nice new red ones nice easy job till i got to the one behind head after a couple of quid in the swear box all done :drink:

Did this over last 2 days but have been too busy to post pics.

Well I did this to Colleys rims :lol:

Removed my wheels and tyres and put on a set of spares.... looks terrible at the moment :shock:

But getting my new (used) 265/75/16 muddies fitted on my black alloys tomorrow :dance:
