Re: My good friend is hurtGlad you are home Dazz , but please no more nipple pics while I am eating my dinner
Re: My good friend is hurtDazz - really pleased to hear you're home!
Just wanted to offer you my sympathies as I have a pretty good idea what you're going through. I was involved in gas flash fire a few years back and had 19ish% burns to arms, legs and face, most of which looked just like what you've got going on there. Spent a week in the burns unit, then back/forth for two more getting dressings changed. Pleased to say that within about 6 months it had all faded, and after a few years the marks were pretty much gone. All I would do is echo what Dave1966 said about the sun...I was two years before I dropped below factor 50 and a hat! Even then I turned scarlet in an instant Keep swearing at the physio girl - she's used to it... and keep sucking the gas/air on the dressing changes - trust me...they do get easier every time. Lee

Re: My good friend is hurtNice to see you again, you big tot.
Re: My good friend is hurtWelcome back big lad, stay away from the truck for a bit though and don't go taking back axles off, dragging it 20 mtrs down the garden to the shed and lifting it onto the work bench on your own like I did within about an hour of getting home from the hospital a mere 2 days after having my appendix out...... I was bored! The doc was not happy
This posting may have been helpfull, on the other hand probably not... Either way, I may have had drink when posting it in which case it's probably not as helpfull as it could have been
Work safe, and remember all technical problems can be resolved with a hammer, the trick is knowing where to hit it and how big a hammer to use (I often find it may also help to have a spare bit in the shed to replace the bit you have just mullered Work in Progress (or not as the case may be) I give you.... 'O-no' the truck. Comments on 'O-no' the truck may be left here Work in Progress (or not as the case may be) I give you.... Re: My good friend is hurtOh s**t. Not good, have to admit I did wonder the other day when someone mentioned he'd caught something while in there and his discharge was being delayed.
Good luck big lad. This posting may have been helpfull, on the other hand probably not... Either way, I may have had drink when posting it in which case it's probably not as helpfull as it could have been

Re: My good friend is hurtHi again folks.
Darren has just phoned me from the hospital. It seems he went back in to have his dressings changed, and all of a sudden there were lots of people around him. So he knew something was wrong. A doctor informed him he had MRSA and he had to be kept in. He has to have his arm anethsetised tomorrow so they can remove a sample for testing, to find out just what type he has. He was told that burns dont bleed because they are cotterised at the point of injury, yet he is bleeding heavily. He has been informed that he could be in hospital for up to a month. They have him on 4 different drips at the moment, and he says the pain is really bad. One of the local FOG members is planning to pop in and visit him soon, so hopefully he will be able to see him. I'm keeping in touch with Laura to make sure she is coping ok. Darren has asked me to thank all the members who have posted very kind words about this, and he feels very humbled by it all. I hope to be able to see him after the weekend, and will keep this thread updated. Once again, thanks to you all, its really appreciated. Regards, Keith.
