Fitted a new exhaust from the cat - back
I have been under my fronty for most of the day, nothing nicer than lying in snow :shock:

What started out to be the rear tail pipe turned into the tail pipe and niddle section with the back box. Then it turned into the cat as well.
All fitted now though, just cold and have a big dent in my wallet :lol:

Bought Road tax today and found that tessie celibrates her 16th birthday tomorrow.

Now what can i get her....? oil change or anti-freeze :lol:

sorted both drivers side doors as central locking was playing up rear door would not shut and front would not open

got the front one open and took both front an rear panel off and wd40 sprayed it all mechanism and freed off bits then
gave a light spray of copper grease and all is ok :drink:

think it might have been down to -4c temp during day and a low of -8 during night but wind chill would of been lower :drink:

Just got back from taking the truck to the garage :roll:

i now have a happily married exhaust again

best parts only cost me £20 plus i didnt have to get cold and wet :!:

Stripped the offside front hub. Cannot see anything amis ... think I have a bust CV joint

Oh and got out a big bucket and filled it with the grit at the bottom of the road and manually gritted the street I live on seeing as the council don't seem to want to do it themselves.

Drove mine for the first time in ages again :lol:

Drove it to fix that bloody Musso with the waxed fuel pump because of veg, well £20 of diesel yet another new fuel filter and a heat gun and my Tmax compressor to blow out the lines and a fitted a new starter motor and BINGO it lives, still on veg but 50/50 mix, told him he can sod off if I want anything to do with it again :lol:

Oh we also refitted the inline fuel heater as that wasnt working correctly, not bad for £30 it does the job.

Now Ged owes me :twisted:

How he managed to keep that flippin Jeep going in this months Total Off Road is beyond me :lol:

Spent half the day unfreezing the engine :oops:

(some one forgot the anti-freeze last night, thank god no damage done)
got a new battery and put the anti-freeze in. One lesson i learnt today and wont forget in a hurry :lol:

More like, "what did Alfie do to my truck last Sunday" (today was the first chance to take a photo in the daylight)

Just need to replace the 2" 3-point Sabelt belts with the 3" 5-point TRS belts and I'm good for competiton.

Finally got around to fixing the darn thing...

Thought it was running a little poorly so got it compression tested..no compression at all in pot 3. mech person says "HG blown"..

well it was almost blown...but not as blown as the exhaust valve, nice big hole in it..no damage to head, piston, or the bore, so thought is I got lucky and it shot out the exhaust (probably stuck in the cat now) phoned VX (for a laugh) £57.50 + vat each none in stock be a couple of weeks...Local motor factors (Culmac) £10 + vat be in around 4.30pm today (I phoned at about 2pm)

evening spent re-seating valves and replacing oil stem seals..

All back together (sort of) started and it's as noisy as a train..might have something to do with the fact a snapped a stud on the manifold/downpipe join and forgot to put the gasket in...along with my timing being even more slightly out than it was before...but it lives again (just)

Stripped my sticking rear caliper. Managed to do it without damaging any seals (result!) reassembled ,bled through, good as gold. Then went for a bit of greenlaning (now that my leg is kinda working again

) and picked up over a tonnes worth of logs and drove back over the snow covered mountain. Cracking day

Got my head on and all hooked up running sweet. Will change the oil again tomorrow ran it today with fresh stuff to give it a flush out and will do a final one on Monday with good oil

finally got the fans to do what i want them to do, (and that's not just cheer)

Went out laning & fording around South Shropshire with a few mates

Fixed my rattly bonnet at cold start up and found my headlights came on, on there own..then went off again :shock:

then forgot to check them out as I was shopping for birthday presents :oh yer:

One for the morning then :lol:

sniffed out another front axle actuator from a local breakers yard and picked it up ready for replacing my old naffed 1 tomorrow morning weather permitting
