WHAT YOU DID TO YOUR TRUCK TODAY!

Fixed the power steering pump with another from a scrappy .... then the aircon compressor seized while trying to bleed the steering. Fortunatly I managed to kill the engine before belts heated/melted/snapped/ruined everything. Now ultimatly annoyed and looking for a spare replacement aircon compressor or ideally a top pulley to get rid of the entire system once and for all.

It will need finishing off tomorrow but changed disks, pads, calipers, flexi hoses to braided ones and tommorow changing brake fluid

all that after a full day at work :shock:

Today I have mostly been ballsing it up!! Knock a valve shim into the oil run!! Bugger

Fudge arrived with a new item for the car, wil be a surprise for when there is daylight

I finished of the bearing change,and i am well pleased with my self,as i got it all back together by my self,with out f** it up :lol:

Also did my hand brake :drink:

changed the rest of my vac pipes [well hope i got em all] but still no 4wd ffs

Bodged a repair on my fuel tank bracket with a length of aluminium. Not tidy, but secure.
Right then....what's next!

put more lights on the roof. so now have 3 pairs of lights [ 2 pairs of spots 1 pair of driving ] on the roof rack :twisted:

took it round the block to check brakes working ok and almost went through the windscreen :oops:

then spent an hour cleening the boot of everything that spilt after the braking incident :shock:

looked at car, realised i had the wrong fitment for the water hose, shut the bonnet, walked inside and settled down to a Baltic curry, then decided to watch a DVD of fog, the one Ste gave me ages ago to watch, bloody good video

I broke mine, heh :oops:

Well, Lara, not the Bus, thankfully (who is purring like a kitten).
Unfortunately it seems that the front diff on the SWB has now expired completely. Ran around for an hour or so in 4WD with the welded rear buy still managed to get stuck and the extraction efforts (thank you Bobbins) probably killed it completely as it was 2WD only after that, still had another bit of a runaround, to see what the welded diff can do.

Decisions decisions. New front axle, or lots of weld?? :twisted:

ordered a new timing belt tensioner

Took it to a man to have the ball joints replaced. Much easier than trying to do it myself, especially as they aparently had to dismantle the hubs :shock:

Still, only 2 hours worth of labour, which cost about the same as 1 hour of labour at the stealers

I woke up to the sad news I had a flat tyre. :cry:

So, out came the foot pump - 20psi & my leg was ready to drop off. "That'll do" I said. Then, off to the local tyre fitters (about 5-6 miles), and £7 and 15 min later...BOB'S YA AUNTY, AND FANNY'S YA UNCLE. My baby looks all good again. :lol:

I also received my new CB that I bought off eBay. Came as a complete kit, mic, magmount, whip, the lot. Good for the money. I just need to sort out some extra wire, and fit it. Prob do that at the weekend when off work.
