I washed my truck today, I was scared to wash it, as I didnt want to see the damage I thought I had done down the sides (green lane scratches from the breacons a couple of months ago). Anyway - luckily only a few scratches that can be Tcut out.
Also managed to sort my bloody roof lights out - as they keep packing up! :dance:

I had mine re-tested after the MOT fail yesterday.
New rear seat belt,new plugs,sill patched, hand brake pulled up, passed all OK. Another year of trouble free motoring to look forward to

My drives side wheel making a scraping noise after its strip down Sunday night :roll:

so another tomorrow, though suspect its only a bent stone guard,but while Im there I will nip up the new bearing as should be done after a few miles when a new one is fitted, bugger all else it could be :lol:

I finally got the new engine in and running change the clocks heated mirrors and wiring loom.

its taken me five days to sort it :oops:

(started last sunday finished couple of hours ago did nothing on tuesday and thursday :oops:

Today I stripped the power steering pipes of the yella fronterror to donor onto the li'll white locked up leafer...
Dont fancy arm ache again driving it without powersteering...
worked out how to mod the pressure relief valve to give it some more grunt after some help from Planetisuzu

Worked out a cunning plan for the winch bumper for the 2.8lwb, which will get the winch further up so it doesnt kill approach angle and yet be massively strong...I like my winch mounts to be such that I can winch the truck up trees should I need to :lol:

not like some mounts I have seen in the past, that would shear off it given some proper stick.

Lubed up body bolts ready for body lift with a difference :wink:

Started getting stuff ready for the workday this weekend...

Oh yes Ste.....but badder than ever....the plan is it should be in the workshop for early spring...then nissan gq axles with lockers on coilovers, 4link rear, 3link and panhard rod front...double transfer case with 4:1 crawler gear set...
Gonna stick with the 2.0i as its a good-un..and with the gears it will be fine...axles are 5.somethings if I remember rightly...toying with a hyraulic system to that will induce extra flex on demand, to pick a wheel up to place on stuff...dunno yet though...got most of the bits...hopefully pulling a deal on a set of 38.5x 16x15 superswamper boggers for it :wink:

Was really tempted to pull the lump out of my 90...thats a 4.2 Rangey LSE V8 thats very played with...would go in no probs and would work well...
Got a few engines up the workshop...a couple of 3.3 nissan patrol diesels and 2x 4.2 landcruiser diesels...and a GMC V8 diesel that I can get back of the mate I sold it to for not much £££...
Dunno...if I can keep the 2.0i on the boil with the right gearing it should work really well...but not sure yet, will see what occurs when she's in bits...
Really tempted with a big derv lump though...

The only thing Frontera would be the chassis and body, so you need the 2.8 to keep authenticity :wink:

Got offered some MOG axles the other day for the right money...was tempted... :lol:
