Yesterday...Removed the knackered side steps off the 2.8lwb...removed bullbar to change it for a better one and snapped 3 of the bolts in the captive nuts :twisted:

so now its bullbarless...should have left it alone :lol:

Got the 2.4i ready for sale, swapped the rad back into it out of sals 2.8 shorty, cleaned her up, swapped the wheels and tyres over and sal cleaned it inside, looks really nice now!

well just ordered a full exhaust system for the gold1 ready for its mot and at £202.00 next day i dont think thats to bad a price . Getting it from here

had another go at trying to free up the icv abit

used the remaining half tin of wd40 on it & ive got to say shes running a lot better the tick overs still a little high when shes warm but the revs dont hold up at 2k like they used & its possible it might improve more over the next few days with use so im going to put this down as a success :wink:

I made a holder that holds my CB aerial tidy in the boot (dont leave it in the mount as it will get stolen) which involved a bottle with the top cut off cable tied to a vertical part of the rollbar for the threaded bit and springy bit to sit in, then a bit of copper tube cable tied to the top of the roll bar to slot the top of the aerial through. :mrgreen:

Also painted my wheels black, looks a bit better than silver and only cost me a fiver.

Replaced knackered tailpipe with a brand new one..no more gun gum and redbull cans

Gave it a once over at the jet wash, but forgot about the large clumps of welsh grass hanging off everything underneath..which made the above a stinkier job than it would have been if i'd done it on saturday

2.8 is currently minus its rear axle, gearbox, clutch and flywheel :wink:

Spare gearbox transfer case is in bits so I can fit the new gears and hopefully picking up the Trooper axle on Fri then got get it all back together for the 30th of October

Put the recovery junk into the boot, 2 "standard" tow straps, a strap and endless strap aswell as 4 shackles that'll soon be somehow mounted to the car

Work was not impressed with me saying "well......the tow straps are rated at 5 ton each......can i attach the managers car to the wall?"

Took the gold1 in for its MOT at 9am went back at 10 to pick her up expecting to be handed a failier sheet as long as my arm

but was realy happy when i was handed a full mot and only 4 advosories
minor leak from the exhaust, front shocker slight oil misting, nsf indicator lens missing, battery insecure

I gave it some fun in the first snow of the year!

AT's with a little less pressure are nice on snow, but not the best on ice I think :-)

I really did skid along (also when I didn't want to..), but so was every one else with their slick summer tyres. Traffic very slow today, but it seems like I have to roll out those dull, standard sized stud tyres :roll:

Big tyres and ground clearance really is addictive..
